Becoming a Therapist in Utah

In Utah, the path to independent licensure begins with earning a master's degree in an approved mental health program. After graduation, clinicians obtain their associate license through the Utah Division of Professional Licensing (DOPL) and complete the required supervised clinical hours before becoming independently licensed.

Those clinical hours are some of the most formative of your career. The quality of your supervision, mentorship, and training during this time has a lasting impact on the therapist you become.
