Hi, I'm Travis!
I'm a Social Work Intern here at Mending Minds. Originally from Northern California, I've lived throughout the western United States, but for the past six years my family and I have proudly called Cedar City home. My wife and I have been married for 12 years and have four amazing children. When I'm not in the office, I enjoy traveling and exploring everything Southern Utah has to offer.
A Career Built on Helping Others
For the past 12 years, I've dedicated my professional life to helping at-risk teenagers. I have hands-on experience working in residential treatment centers and within family systems — walking alongside young people through some of the most challenging seasons of their lives. Those experiences shaped me in ways I never expected and gave me a deep passion for mentoring and supporting individuals who are facing mental health struggles, grief and loss, and substance use challenges.
That passion is what ultimately guided me toward pursuing a career in therapy. I received my Bachelor's degree from Southern Utah University in 2025 and am currently pursuing my Master of Social Work degree through The Ohio State University.
My Approach to Therapy
I strive to provide compassionate, nonjudgmental care. I believe that creating a safe space — where you feel comfortable addressing all aspects of your life — is the foundation of meaningful change. My approach is person-centered and trauma-informed, which means I meet you exactly where you are, without expectations or judgment.
I focus on building trust, connection, and practical tools for healing and growth. I'm also continually exploring new learning opportunities and approaches so I can offer the best possible support to those I work with.
