At Mending Minds, we believe that finding the right therapist is one of the most important steps on your mental health journey. That's why we're excited to introduce Brooklyn Blanchard, one of our Intern Therapists who brings a warm, collaborative spirit to every session.
A Person-Centered, Strengths-Based Approach
Brooklyn is a strengths-based, person-centered clinician—which means she meets you exactly where you are. Rather than focusing solely on what's wrong, she helps you identify and build on the strengths you already have. Her approach is collaborative: she works alongside you to discover what tools, techniques, and strategies feel right for your life.
"Sometimes the hardest things to express are the ones that matter most," Brooklyn shares. That's why she often incorporates experiential approaches—hands-on, creative methods that help clients express emotions and experiences that can be difficult to put into words.
Certified in Sandtray Therapy
Brooklyn is certified in Sandtray Therapy, a powerful experiential technique that uses miniature figures and a tray of sand to help clients explore their inner world. Sandtray therapy can be especially helpful for those who struggle to verbalize complex emotions, and it's effective for clients of all ages. It provides a safe, non-threatening way to process difficult experiences and gain new insights into your own patterns and relationships.
Areas of Focus
Brooklyn has a particular passion for working with clients experiencing:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Perfectionism
Whether you're dealing with the weight of constant self-criticism, the paralysis of anxious thoughts, or the heaviness of depression, Brooklyn creates a space where you can explore these challenges without judgment—and start building a path forward that honors who you are.
Outside the Office
When she's not in session, you'll find Brooklyn outdoors—hiking, gardening, and growing flowers. She also loves spending time with her boyfriend and their two dogs. For Brooklyn, being in nature is one of the ways she recharges and stays grounded—a practice she understands the value of both personally and professionally.
"There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn't." — John Green
Ready to Get Started?
If Brooklyn sounds like someone you'd connect with, we'd love to help you take the next step. Reaching out is the hardest part—and you don't have to have it all figured out before your first session.
